The 9th Russian Conference on Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities and the 13th International Forum of the Exhibition Industry – 5pEXPO 2023 will take place at EXPOCENTRE Fairgrounds on 24–26 October 2023. The events are organised by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and EXPOCENTRE AO with the support of RUEF – the Russian Union of Exhibitions and Fairs.
In the light of current events, difficult tasks and challenges that Russia is facing now, the congress and exhibition industry continues to be one of the effective and efficient tools for demonstrating and promoting Russian-made goods and services in the domestic market, as well as a platform for building and establishing new ties and maintaining business contacts with partners from foreign friendly countries.
The conference and forum will traditionally become a meeting place for key market players: industry associations, exhibition and congress centres, as well as companies presenting the latest digital technologies and smart solutions, modern equipment, design projects and services in the exhibition, congress and event industry.
The forum includes an exhibition, which will be located on 1,000 sq m in Pavilion No.2 (Hall 3) logically continuing the showcase of Reklama 2023.
This year 5pEXPO welcomes more than 70 companies engaged in the congress and exhibition industry. Major Russian companies, including Negus Expo International, Bestly, Fortuna, Expo Global Group, Art Polymedia, Screen Agency, À5000, and others, will show IT technologies, equipment, solutions for exhibition stands, and modern tools and mechanisms of event promotion.
Traditional 5pEXPO participants are the best venues and exhibition organisers in Russia and abroad including Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre, Expo Fusion, Gefera Media, EXPOCENTRE, Moscow World Trade Center, and many others.
For the first time, there will be a gallery of Rusaian regional chambers of commerce and industry presenting the city of Moscow, Stavropol Krai, and Arkhangelsk, Kirov, Vladimir, Bryansk, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Smolensk and Tambov regions.

The conference programme includes the Plenary Meeting: A 180° Turn! Transformation of the Congress and Exhibition Market and Adaptation to New Realities. The event will be moderated by Vice President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Maxim Fateev and Chair at the Committee on Exhibition, Fair, and Convention Activity of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Director General at EXPOCENTRE AO Alexey Vyalkin.
Speakers from among the leaders of the Russian congress and exhibition industry will discuss such important topics as regulation of congress and exhibition activities in Russia, support of subjects of congress and exhibition activity, attracting major rotating events to Russian venues in the current environment, attracting exhibitors from SCO and BRICS countries: experience and prospects, organisation of participation of Russian group stands and pavilions abroad and business missions to friendly countries.
The participants in the Expert Session on Regional Exhibitions as a Barometer of Development and Export Potential of the Region will talk about the current problems faced by regional exhibition venues, the experience of interaction with local authorities, the role of chambers of commerce, and much more.
The forum will continue with experts sessions on
- Event Projects and Exhibitions. What factors shape market trends and tendencies? Co-organised by EXPOCENTRE AO, NAOM – the National Association of Event Organisers (jointly with the Event People Community)
- Stand Constructors. Co-organised by Expoconsta AO and the Union of Exhibition Contractors
- The Time of Leaders! An Event Passport of the Region: Results of Four Years of Practical Application. Co-organised by the Kamchatka Krai Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Russian Convention Bureau and the Exhibition Research Center R&C
For the first time, 5pEXPO will host the Battle of Marketers. It will be organised by the exeDrive Acceleration Platform for Marketing Experts, which brings together more than 1,000 marketers from different industries.There will be a competition of marketing experts, targetologists, SMM managers, advertisers from different companies gathered in a team under the guidance of a captain and a mentor to solve cases of real customers. The battle consists of several stages. Judging is based on the principles and standards of World Skills Russia on the basis of a precise set of criteria. The team with the maximum number of points wins.
A joint meeting of the Committees on Exhibition, Fair and Convention Activity and on Education and Social Policy of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be dedicated to problems of staffing of congress, exhibition and event industry companies.
The forum will also feature the Panel on the Ways and Methods of Attracting Foreign Audience to Congresses and Exhibitions in Russia, co-organised by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The forum will include meetings of RUEF's specialised committees, as well as partner practical events including discussions and masterclasses.

The official opening ceremony of the 9th Russian Conference on Exhibition, Fair and Congress Activities and the 13th International Forum of the Exhibition Industry – 5pEXPO 2023 will take place on 24 October at 12.00 in the Plenary Meeting Hall, Hall 3 of Pavilion No.2.
